Testing the Scanner

After you install the scanner drivers and software, you can test the functionality of the scanner. To do this, use the diagnostic test in Windows or Kodak Imaging.

To perform the Diagnostic test on the scanner, follow these steps

1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Scanners And Cameras.
2. Click the installed scanner you want to test, and then click Properties.
3. Click Test Scanner Or Camera.NOTE: A Diagnostic Results dialog box is displayed stating whether the test failed or succeeded.

4. Click OK, and then close the Scanners And Cameras dialog box.

To test the scanner using Kodak Imaging, follow these steps

1. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Imaging.
2. On the File menu, click Select Scanner, click the scanner you want to test, and then click OK.
3. Place a document you want to scan in the scanner.
4. On the File menu, click Scan New.
5. Follow the instructions on your screen to scan the image.
After you complete the scan procedure, the image is displayed in Kodak Imaging. For additional information about using scanners in Windows, click Start, click Help, click the Index tab, type scanners , and then click Display.
