To manually remove the PScript 5 driver for Windows XP and 2000:

1. In Windows, choose Start > Settings > Printers.

2. Select any printers that use the AdobePS driver (Ctrl+click to select multiple printers), and delete them. (To determine which printer driver a printer uses, right-click the printer, and choose Properties from the pop-up menu. Next, click the Device Settings tab, right-click the installed printer name at the top of the list of device settings, and click About.) If Windows returns the message "Are you sure you want to delete the printer," click Yes.

3. Delete the following files in the WinNT/System32/Spool/Drivers/W32x86/3 folder:

-- PS5UI.dll

-- Pscript5.dll

-- Pscript.hlp

-- Pscript.ntf

Note: If Windows returns a message that one or more of the files are in use, restart Windows, and then delete the files.

4. If you don't use other software that requires PPD files (for example, Adobe PageMaker), delete all *.ppd files and *.bpd files in the WinNT/System32/Spool/Drivers/W32x86/3 folder.
