NETGEAR DG834GT Wireless ADSL Router Firmware 1.02.19.

Modifications and Bug Fixes:

1. Added support for up to five Virtual Private Network (VPN) endpoints, including a VPN wizard for easy configuration and a VPN status log. This feature can be found under the Advanced menu.

2.Added support for Wi-Fi Multimedia Quality of Service (WMM QoS) to prioritize wireless voice and video traffic. WMM QoS is a feature that provides prioritization of wireless data packets from different applications based on four access categories: voice, video, best effort, and background. For an application to receive the benefits of WMM QoS, both it and the client running that application must be WMM-enabled. Legacy applications that do not support WMM, and applications that do not require QoS, are assigned to the best-effort category, which receives a lower priority than voice and video. WMM QoS is enabled automatically.

3.Added support for Wi-Fi Multi-Media Power Save (WMM-PS). WMM-PS extends the battery life of Wi-Fi devices by increasing the efficiency and flexibility of data transmission. With WMM-PS, the same amount of data can be transmitted in a shorter time and using fewer frames, while allowing the Wi-Fi device to remain longer in a low-power, "dozing" state. WMM-PS is enabled by default.

4.Added support for Wi-Fi Protected Access Version 2 (WPA2) wireless encryption, which is a more powerful encryption method than WPA and which utilizes the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) block cipher (WPA uses the RC4 stream cipher). To invoke this feature go to Security Options on the Wireless Settings page.

Content filtering lets you control access to inappropriate websites and limit usage by time of day. To be ultimately secure you can limit access to designated computers using their unique ID, called a MAC address.


The DG834GT 108 Mbps wireless router is simple to use – it plugs directly into your ADSL line, no need for a separate modem.
