Wide 3.5-inch LCD touch-screen with durable acrylic panel to protect the screen from scratches, wide viewing angle of approximately 160 degrees and an anti-reflection coating to enhance visibility in bright sunlight.

Revolutionary touch-screen technology with only two buttons - camera-on/off and shutter release. Simply touch your subject on the screen to set the correct focus and exposure. The camera detects if it is held in portrait or landscape orientation, and automatically rotates the icons on screen.

Smile and Blink detection functions help capture perfect portraits with smiling faces and open eyes. Smile detection automatically takes the shot when your chosen subject smiles, and Blink detection warns you when someone had their eyes closed so that you can quickly take another shot.

Scene Auto Selector enables carefree shooting by automatically selecting the most appropriate Scene mode for popular photographic situations.

NIKKOR 5x zoom lens offers outstanding precision and sharp resolution. (35mm [135] film format equivalent: 33 - 165mm). Control the zoom by touching the zoom-in or zoom-out icons on the LCD monitor.

3x anti-blur automatically counters blurry images in three ways. Sensor-shift VR (Vibration Reduction) reduces the effect of camera shake. High ISO (3200) light sensitivity reduces the risk of blurred images with fast-moving subjects or in low-light. Best Shot Selector (BSS) automatically selects the sharpest of up to 10 sequential shots.

Face-priority technology uses advanced Face Priority AF to focus accurately and quickly on up to 12 selected faces in a scene, and Face-priority one-touch zoom lets you zoom in on selected faces.

In-camera Red-eye Fix corrects false eye color due to flash. It automatically analyzes the captured image for the presence of red-eye effect and corrects it before saving the image to memory.
