The COOLPIX P5000 delivers the kind of advanced functions, ease of operation and outstanding image quality that enables you to capture images precisely as you intended.

A remarkable 10.0 megapixels of resolution combine with a 3.5x Zoom-Nikkor lens equipped with an optical Lens shift Vibration Reduction image stabilization system to give you the power to shoot everything in stunningly sharp detail, and a newly designed mode dial provides fast and easy access to the unlimited creative possibilities offered by P, S, A and M exposure modes.

Its advanced new image-processing engine optimizes performance and color reproduction and features enhanced noise reduction to preserve image quality when you shoot at the high end of its light sensitivity range, which extends up to ISO 3200*. Photographic versatility is further enhanced thanks to its optical viewfinder and the built-in accessory shoe that supports Nikon’s advanced i-TTL flash control for external flashes.

10.0 megapixel resolution lets you capture outstandingly detailed images, crop creatively and produce stunningly sharp enlargements.

3.5x Zoom-Nikkor lens covering the key photographic range of 36-126mm (35mm equivalent).

Optical Lens shift Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilization system counters the effects of camera shake to produce sharp images and movies and deliver clear images in lower light. Active the entire time the camera is switched on, sensors in the VR lens unit detect camera movement and make precise automatic adjustments to reduce blur in your images and movies, as well as on the camera’s LCD monitor.

Light Sensitivity range of ISO 64 to ISO 3200* significantly reduces the risk of blurry images when you shoot fast-moving subjects or take pictures in low light. Fixed sensitivity settings up to ISO 3200* are available in Manual exposure mode. In Anti-Shake and High-Sensitivity modes, AUTO ISO control automatically selects the optimal sensitivity setting for the shot from a range of up to ISO 800. (*ISO 3200 is available only for image sizes of 5M (2592 x 1944) or smaller.)

Large 2.5” LCD monitor with 170-degree wide viewing angle simplifies image composition and playback.

Optical viewfinder: achieve accurate composition in direct sunlight and other brightly lit conditions when an LCD monitor can be awkward to use. Use of the optical viewfinder can also conserve battery power.

Magnesium alloy front panel.

Advanced shooting modes: a choice of Programmed Auto (P), Shutter-priority Auto (S), Aperture-priority Auto (A) and Manual (M) for even greater creative control.

Expandable system to expand your creative vision: compatible with the WC-E67 24mm wide-angle converter lens** and the TC-E3ED 3x telephoto converter lens**. (** Requires use of the UR-E20 converter adapter)

Built-in accessory shoe supports Nikon's advanced i-TTL flash control to enable you to work with optional external flashes such as the compact SB-400.
