IBM ThinkPad R61e(type 7650)/R61i(type 7650) 15.4 inch widescreen models without IEEE 1394 BIOS Update Utility 2.21-1.08 Windows XP/Vista(x32/x64).

This BIOS Update Utility updates the BIOS (system program including the Embedded Controller (EC) program) stored in the ThinkPad system to fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions as noted below.

This release supports the following systems:

  • ThinkPad R61e 15.4 inch widescreen models without IEEE 1394(type 7650)
  • ThinkPad R61i 15.4 inch widescreen models without IEEE 1394(type 7650)

    Version 2.21 / ECP: 1.08:

  • (New) Added the option to disable wireless switch in the BIOS setup.
  • (New) Added PCI Express Power Management disabling capability in BIOS setup.
  • (New) Enhanced Video BIOS function.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue that caused a blue screen error on Windows Vista by updating Intel GM965 Video BIOS to v1668.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where Windows XP installation might stop responding on the way.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where reboot might not be done for all Physical Presence I/F command execution.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where the computer with the Smart Card Reader resumed normal operation immediately after going into sleep mode at critical low battery state on Windows Vista.
  • (Fix) Fixed an issue where some CardBus devices might have slow performance.
