iRiver iFP-500T Series iFP-590T/iFP-595T/iFP-599T MP3 Player Firmware v1.85 UMS Version. This is iFP-500T (590T/595T/599T) V1.85G (UMS version) enabling you to use your iFP player as a hard drive.

Improved Feature:

  • Improved to keep current setting after connecting to the PC as below. Did not write or change any data after connecting to the PC -> Current settings such as playback mode are not changed. Did write(delete/copy/move/change files) after connecting to the PC -> Current settings are initialized.

    Fixed Bugs:

  • Fixed the issue that reboots after displaying Delete error when adding a file, if over 100 tracks are programmed on the device.
  • Fixed the issue that didn't keep Fade in setting when beep volume is changed to 0.
  • Fixed the issue that didn't shuffle properly on Study mode with SFL D, DA on.
  • Fixed the issue that didn't display certain ID3 tag in unicode correctly.
  • Fixed the issue that didn't keep current setting after powering on and off when interval repeat or SFL was on.

    How to upgrade firmware on UMS version(iFP Series & N10 Series)

    1. Copy the firmware file into root folder to upgrade firmware. If your player has been upgraded to the UMS version, iriver Manager program will not recognize your player.

  • Copy "iFP-1xxtc.hex" file to the root folder of the Removable disk (your iFP player) on your PC.
  • Go to "General" by holding NAVI/MENU button of iFP player, enter "Firmware upgrade" menu.
  • Click "YES" to upgrade firmware.

    2. Format your player.

    3. Select "FAT" as the file system and choose "Quick Format".

  • Select FORMAT by clicking on your removable drive (iriver player).
  • VOICE and TUNER folders will be automatically created when the iFP player turned on after formatting.

    When you download/upload, the LCD displays "Transferring". When the transfer is done, it displays "USB Connected".

    For Windows 98 ONLY. You may safely disconnect the player from USB when the player LCD displays "USB Connected".

  • If you disconnect the USB cable before the LCD displays "USB Connected", the data transfer may not completed and you may have incomplete files.
  • Do not transfer files when the battery level is low. Use new or refresh battery to avoid losing data.

    Other than Windows 98 ONLY. To disconnected the iFP player from USB, please use "Safely Remove Hardware" on the system tray and hardware device.
